'Gundam' Meets Hollywood

Wait... what?!?

That's right folks, you read that right. Tomino Yoshiyuki has scheduled a press conference on the 21st of January for partnership work with Hollywood

アニメーション監督・富野由悠季さんが1月21日に記者会見を行うことがわかった。

これは、アニメ「機動戦士ガンダム」の原作者/総監督として知られる富野さんや米エミー賞を獲得した堀裕治さんなど多くのクリエーターが所属するプロデューサー集団・株式会社飍(※3つの"風"で構成された漢字、読み：オオカゼノオコルサマ)によるもの。

同社は、今回新たに、「アバター」「アイアンマン」「Xメン」「パシフィック・リム」などのハリウッド作品に特殊スーツや特殊メイクを提供している米ロサンゼルスのSFXスタジオ・Legacy Effects社と業務提携し、「日本の漫画やアニメを原作とした映画作品をハリウッドから世界市場へ送り出す」ことを目的とした共同事業を始めるが、その提携作品の第1弾を富野さんが発表するという。

察するに、"富野さんが関わったアニメ作品いずれかのハリウッド実写映画化"という内容である可能性が高いが、詳細は会見で明らかになる。

Speculations on what Title is to be released on the scheduled conference are quite high. Are we really going to be seeing a Hollywood Adaptation of Gundam? I honestly don;t know how to feel about that.
