「First Impressions」Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

The moment I was waiting for! Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei finally hits the Anime scene!

National Magic University Affiliated First High School.
The simple fact that you have been allowed to enroll at this school makes you one of the elites whose rare talent in magic has been acknowledged.
However, at this school...
     From the day you start
          you're either an honor student
               or an irregular

So the Irregular at magic high school finally hits the Anime area after a pretty long wait -for me anyway-! Reading the Light Novel and the Manga made me kind of impatient to see this come out as a animated version. Now all that's left is to see whether or not the execution pleases me...

Magic is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since a time unknown to people. Supernatural power became a technology systematized through magic, while magic became a technical skill. A "Supernatural Power User" became a "Magic Technician." Magic Technicians (in short, Magicians) are nurtured through Magic High Schools and Universities.

This is a story about:

Tatsuya, a defective elder brother low achiever.
Miyuki, a perfect, flawless younger sister high achiever.
After both siblings entered a Magic High School,
The stage of daily turbulence was unveiled—.

So we start off with a quick history of what happened in the past setting of this Anime. Around the year 2030, due to extreme climate cooling, food supplies started to dwindle. Energy sources were fought over and soon -year 2045- World War III happened. Lasting for about 20 long years...

The population plummeted to 3 billion and the only reason why the war didn't escalate into a Thermonuclear one was due to the global solidarity of the world's 「magic technicians」. And now in the 21st century, every nation is competing in the race to develop these so called magicians.

When I started reading it, the intrigue hit me full on as I wanted to find out exactly what this was all about. After the quick introduction, the Anime starts us off at National Magic University Affiliated High School with our two main protagonists Shiba Miyuki -voiced by Hayami Saori- and Shiba Tastuya -voiced by Nakamura Yuuichi-.

So we get a few info on both the main characters. It seems Tatsuya is good at theoretical and martial arts, while the sister -who is completely smitten with her brother- is a very good Magician. She voices her displeasure while her brother tries to calm her down.

The first episode here serves as a slow introduction into things as most are. We get to see supporting characters such as the fiery red head Chiba Erika -voiced by Uchiyama Yumi-, big breasted megane OP eyes Shibata Mizuki -voiced by Satou Satomi-, Shinobi master Kokonoe Yakumo -voiced by Okiayu Ryotaro-, President-chan Saegusa Mayumi -voiced by Hanazawa Kana-, Moral Committee Chairman Watanabe Mari -voiced by Inoue Marina-, and so many more! Character dump!!

We do get to see the skills of Tatsuya though as he fights off with pupils at a temple and Yakumo-sensei. Pretty niffy!

As a start, I don't really feel much out of it. If it weren't for the fact that I already know what the story is, I would be applying the 3-day-rule here. But since that's not the case...
